great location.
A couple of small niggles- the lift wasn`t working yesterday afternoon (at least, another guest and I waited 10 minutes before attacking the stairs!) and the ceiling fan was not working and noone could be found to put it right (annoying on one of the hottest nights of the year!) Otherwise, very pleasant staff, welcome drink appreciated, good breakfast. Room very small- next time we would go for a better one.
No complaints!
Great location within short walk to Kensington High Street (and nearby Waggamma!!). Friendly staff, very comfortable room with all necessary amenities and a quiet nights sleep! Excellent breakfast. A real hit!
I found this Hotel to be very good. Though the rooms were small they were clean up to date, great shower! which is a must for me. The staff were helpful and very friendly the breakfast was also excellent , would definitely stay in this Hotel again.
Location was fantastic for our trip to the Royal Albert Hall. We also walked to Notting Hill from there. The reception staff were very friendly. Breakfast was a continental buffet with decent fresh orange juice. You could pay extra for a number of cooked breakfast dishes. The only negatives were that the room was very small indeed, although it was clean, well equipped and nicely decorated. And the passenger lift was next to our room and quite noisy.
Stayed for one night and was very impressed with the room and the helpfulness of the staff
My wife and I stayed here for one Saturday night while visiting the Albert Hall just a few minutes walk away. Just tucked away off the the main road, it was easy to find and nice and quiet. Staff were attentive, polite and friendly. Our room was modern, very clean & fresh and well appointed. A real pleasure to stay in. There`s a nice little bar for pre-theatre drinks and an excellent breakfast the following day. We could not have asked for more and we would definately stay here again. Recommended.
We had a very good stay in The Kensington House Hotel. The hotel is very convenient for Kensington High St and a short walk or bus ride to Olympia which was our destination. Our bathroom was suprisingly large for a London hotel. I often stay in another hotel when i visit Kensington but wiill now change to this hotel.
Friendly, pleasant hotel, well enough equipped room, good breakfast. Good for a short break, maybe a bit limited for a longer stay. Some nice touches like complementary drink.
Room a little smaller than expected - difficult to move around the end of the bed!Service was great - breakfast fab!
Have stayed at this hotel twice now and would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in a quiet area close to Royal Albert Hall. The rooms are small but have everything you need (iron, tv , tea/coffee making facilties etc) and are very clean. Good value for London.
Room on 4th floor very stuffy despite opening windows and overhead fan - thank goodness it was not the height of summer! Limited comfortable seating in bar - not particularly inviting (presumably because the room was really the breakfast room)
This was a present for my inlaws, they really enjoyed there stay at the Kensington House. They said it was a small hotel, a little noisy at night with taxi`s arriving, but you`d expect that in a way, but very pleased with it, also recieved a free glass of Cava or coctail on arrival. Highly recommend.
The accommodation was clean, comfortable and quiet. Staff were welcoming, attentive and helpful. Breakfast was plain but substantial. The evening meal, however, was delivered 25 minutes late, which in itself was no problem. However, by the time it was served to us in our room, it was only just warm. In spite of this, we are looking forward to our next visit and have recommended Kensington House to friends and relatives.
Friendly hotel but disappointed that after requesting a quiet room we were given a room with window facing busy street. Moved after first night but does not detract from the fact we were not given what was requested.
This is a well placed hotel in easy reach of bus and underground transport to the West End and beyond. Our room, which was in the basement, was of adequate size and the bed comfortable. We couldn`t hear any street noise. Breakfast was excellent, with a choice of cerials, fruit and pastries, and good coffee. There is a full English breakfast if you want it, but the continental breakfast should satisfy all but the most ravenous eaters. Staff were friendly and helpful. We shall choose this hotel again.
A hotel of character in lovely Kensington just off the High Street. Not perfect - some of the rooms are a bit on the small side but very good service, and with a building as old as this you cannot expect the rooms to be like those in a modern soulless hotel. My hotel of choice in London - have been before and will go again - very sympathetically modernised .. a real treat!
We were upgraded to an executive room when we arried which had more space this was very clean and comfy. The breakfast was good although if you wanted any hot food this was payable as extra. The Location was excellent and off Ken. High St. which has some nice restaurants close by and shops to keep you busy. Really close to the Royal Albert Hall about 5 to 10 min walk and the parks. The only down side was the security of our room - after a night out we returned to fine that someone had been into our room and the door was left open! A Massive shock and ruined our evening as we then had to start cancelling bank and credit cards! we reported it to he night manager who shrugged his shoulders and didnt care. This was not really the response we were hoping for?! what could we do.... apart from that horrble end to our stay otherwise it wa lovely hotel.
The tiny room made our stay uncormfortable, would not stay again,if offered similar room.
The staff were excellent and location for Royal Albert Hall and Kensington High Street is perfect. Would choose to go back, though in a larger room. We reccomend.
water not hot enough in evening
The restauraunt was good value but early evening service was slow.
We were very pleased with the hotel. We`d read earlier reviews indicating the rooms were small - we found the size adequate, and this was more than compensated by the cleanliness and quality of the room, including the bathroom. Breakfast was good and the hotel staff were very pleasant. Whilst the hotel is nicely tucked away from the main road, the only downside was some early morning (7am) traffic noise from the roller shutter doors and reversing bleepers from lorries entering an indistrial unit round the corner. Despite that, I`d happily stay there again - given that we`re early risers!
Stayed here in October-08 to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. Ou r room was no bigger than a dolls house, there was not enough space to swing a cat. The room was clean with everything we needed but not large enough for two adults. We informed the management of our disapointment on leaving, they said we should have complained on our first day, however they sh ould have read our booking requirements.
Whilst room was on the small side it was prefectly adequate (I had a double room to myself for the night) and more or less what I would have expected in London for the price. As seems to be the trend these days the breakfast was continental but wasn`t bad at all. The lift was very small indeed and would be impossible to accomodate anything other than small amount of luggage. I would stay there again.
