Although Reception staff were excellent, we found that the cafe and restaurant staff (with just one exception) were morose, slow, unskilled and unco-operative. For example, when requesting a bottle of wine we were served with two glasses of wine. When requesting a futher two glasses of wine, they took the used glasses away and refilled them rather than serving wine in fresh glasses. Also, we would expect in a hotel in a big city such as Barcelona, that has many international guests, that there would be a better understanding of the English language by the restaurant and cafe staff. Bedroom was small, dark but clean and tidy.
Apart from the water the hotel was good with very nice personnel. They give us breakfast in return for the water situation.
The family rooms, facilities and breakfast met our needs very well. The hotel staff were welcoming , pleasant and very helpful. We all enjoyed our hotel stay and few days in barcelona
I was booked to stay here for 2 nights. When I arrived the couteous and well spoken (in English as well) receptionist advised, unavoidable works meant my room was not ready but has transferred our booking to a same grade hotel a few hundred yards down the road. While he telephoned the hotel to confirm our booking he handed us a glass each of complimentry chanmpagne and made the transfer with minimal fuss. This hotel was on the main road and was very convenient and very nice (Hotel Atlantis) Our receptionist took us there and checked us in. from what I could tell of the hotel receptione it is very nice, clean and air-conditioned (important if going in July/August) the nearest metro stop is Universitat, although Catalunya is only a few hundred yards down the road in the other direction and is much more convenient for sight seeing.
The hotel is in a quiet side road less than 5 mins walk from La Ranbla and Placa de Catalunya.Despite Spains triumph in the World Cup semifinals our room, which was on the front, did not suffer from too much noise!!We did not eat in the hotel as there are so many Tappas Bars and cafes around. We found the cake shop in Calle Taller very good.To get to the Hotel from the Airport could not be easier, just get the bus outside the terminal and get off at Placa de Canalunya. £5.05 each.
As above except that the towels, renewed daily, were so old and this it was difficult to dry ones self with them. They all need to be renewed!
Very close to Catylunia Square in central Barcelona - side street very quiet. Clean rooms - basic but well cared for. Staff usually very helpful - last time we went there, they didn`t have a room for us but they transferred us to a 4 star hotel which was lovely!Be careful to check that you have booked a room with breakfast included- used to be a routine part of the deal - but that seems to have changed now and the extra is not always worth it.Good hotel for handiness to transport and, shopping and sight-seeing.
We really enjoyed our stay at Grupotel Gravina. It was very clean and the staff were friendly. The only problem we had was the ac was not working on the first night however it was sorted for the second night after asking the second time. We would definately stay there again.
We had a wonderful stay for four nights, staff very helpful and of cheery disposition. Excellent room service. Very thoughtful staff who left champagne and cake for my other halfs special birthday. They have a very special touch. Look forward to going back again. Hotel in good position really handy for la rambla etc. x
Accomadation and food were reasonable for the price. Great location. Tea making facilities in the room were advertised but were not available,
The hotel was ideal and had verything that you could want for a visit to the centre of Barcelona. It is well situated and if you travel by underground the station could not be much closer, but it is not intrusive. The staff were great an dvery helpful. The Breakfast was particularly pleasing and there was plenty to eat. The hot drinks from machines can often be of poor quiality but that wasn`t the case here. The rooms were not overly big but more than comfortable for people making a quick visit to Barcelona. The hotel was very clean and the immeadiate impression that this was a good choice was backed up by everything else during our stay. There were 7 of us in our party and we did not have one moan or complaint. Now that was a first! I would recommend it to anyone and like my colleagues I plan to return in the future. My only concern being can it be that good again?
The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the complimentary glass of champagne on arrival was a very lovely touch. The only small negative point was that there were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. I would certainly stay here again.
Lots of noise from the kitchen in the mornings. Sounded like they were washing snooker balls. Chaotic breakfast, people everywhere, queues for coffee, soggy bacon, etc. The room was ordinary and bathroom tired. The location is good - if the hotel tried harder it could be popular. The location is good - if the hotel tried harder
No problems at all, easy to find and in the right place. No coffee makings in the room which was a bit dissappointing.
Good rooms, good location, good service, excellent breakfast, would use again
Been in a lot worse hotels in the uk
We had difficulty finding hotel once we left red line metro- obviously we left at wrong exit and everyone gave us different directions to find hotel. Felt it might be easier if hotel suggests leaving metro at Universtat. Once we knew where hotel was located we no problems. Hotel was great and we had a super time.We will be back and would not hesitate to recommend hotel to others.
room very small but very clean we booked two rooms for four girls tiny double bed in each room bed very hard and uncomfortable not much space but central
Double room (standard not petite) was a reasonable size. Breakfast was good, but too expensive at full rate - we used half price vouchers (given to us when we checked in) then ate elsewhere. Free glass of sparkling wine when we checked in was a nice gesture.
still a quiet and friendly place in a good location
