Thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast offered. Plenty of choice and very friendly staff.
Excellent , inviting reception area. Really nice hotel. Smallish but adequate room with very comfortable bed and two pillows each! Lovely clean bathroom, the only problem being the shower curtain tended to block the drain hole and the shower could really do with a soap dish on the wall. The hotel is well situated for Russell Square gardens (a very relaxing place), the British Museum, west end theatres and a short bus ride to the south bank. All-in-all a very enjoyable short stay.
breakfast expensive comparied with other hotels in this area,
The reception were extremely helpful and courteous. The room was a little hot, due to the weather, so some kind of air conditioning would have been well-received - one of our two rooms did have a unit, but ours did not. However, this did not spoil our stay and we were all pleased with the standard. The location is also excellent, with plenty of options for eating nearby. Overall, an excellent stay and I would certainly recommend it.
I found the rooms to be very basic with very `starchy` towels. Certain channels on Sky disappeared at a certain time as the sky box went into standby mode! The fire alarm also went off at about 1am one of the days with very little communication from the hotel as to what had happened.
no welcome information pack in room with details of meal times etc
The hotel is situated in an ideal location between Russell Square and Holborn underground. We found it very easy to get around london from it.The room was basic but clean. The only bad thing was there was a dreadful smell in the corridor (old and musty) We did not eat at hotel as there are plenty of restaurants and cafe nearby.
Not too bad very compact but done the job
Bloomsbury Park is in a very convenient location. The staff were polite and very helpful. Room clean and comfortable. Breakfast at an extra cost of £13 was a definite no.
Overall a very good hotel to stay in in the centre of London. We went to a Jazz Club in Soho - walked back no problem. Lovely and quiet.Somebody tried to get into the room into the middle of the night - hopefully it was sombody who couldn`t remember their room number....Coming back definetly.
Hotel was convenient and overall clean and tidy. The staff were helpful and polite. The twin room was small and compact with not a lot of room to move around. However, we were only staying for one night, so manageable. Only concern was the room was built over two levels and had, we felt, two quite dangerous steps to the lower level where the beds were. Not ideal if you were elderly!! Breakfast was adequate. Bathroom very clean.
The location was good for getting to Covent Garden and the Theatres. Parking ok and not too expensive. Staff very helpful and cheerful.
Only problem was that directions to the hotel on the web were wrong
The hotel was easy to find having been in that area before and within walking distance of King`s Cross. The room was nice and the bed very comfortable. The only downside was the lack of a bath. This would have been very welcome after a long day walking around London! We didn`t use the dining facilities but ventured out into the West End instead. Would stay here again.
Unfortunately, we were unable to stay at the Bloomsbury Park due to a last minute call to tell us that we didn`t have a room! Luckily they were able to find us a room at an alternative hotel, the Barbican Thistle, which ended up working in our favour as it was much closer to where we wanted to be. Although it worked out okay for us, it is frustrating when hotels can`t achieve their basic function which is to provide a room that has been booked in advance. It was also frustrating that they didn`t spot it until the day before we were due to travel up to London.
I MAY HAVE GOT A HAIRDRYER FROM RECEPTION BUT AS I HAD AN EARLY APPT AT HOSPITAL TOME WAS SHORT
Our room was a double it was small but clean and tidy, on the front therefore we got the street traffic noise in the morning. The bar was nice although it was not used by many guests, didn`t sample the restrauant.
very dissappointed as have stayed in Thistle Hotels previously and have been impressed.
Friendly and helpful reception staff. The room was small by modern standards but immaculately clean. There was no information whatsoever in the room about what the hotel had to offer (oversight by domestic staff ?).The building obviously has an interesting history and the management could make more of this in terms of information in public areas etc. The restaurant/bar looked modern and the prices were reasonable, although we didn`t use it. We would return to this hotel as it is ideally sited for Euston and the West End and has more atmosphere than many modern hotels.
The reception staff were unenthusiastic and appeared unsure of what they were doing. We were rushed at breakfast. Room was clean and tidy but bathroom towels were past their best.
Accomodation good, staff helpful restaurant particularly and concierge.I will come back.
Pleasant reception staff who were happy to deal with any queries. Good meals in restaurant. Rooms very clean. Bathroom small but adequate. Great location for British Museum.
The rooms were small and the bathroom you couldn`t swing a cat in! although the beds were comfortable and the room was clean. Expensive for what you got..
Check in efficiently handled and room available early. Room comfortable but could do with some renovation. Curtains did not meet in the middle so light from street came in. Room was at front of hotel, overlooking fairly busy road, so there was some noise and no double glazing. Shower room was good but no bath.
entrance was nice, but the rooms badly need refurbishing. the walls need replastering, new tiles in bathroom, new curtains,. new furnisher. but the bed was comfy and it was clean, but the carpets were stained. goo location, but disappointing rooms.
We found the staff most delightfully helpful, friendly, and obliging. Traveling with a 92-year-old can be a bit harrowing, but they made sure that she was comfortable and well-attended-to in every possible way - including sending up little free jugs of milk for her bedtime drink - much appreciated! The rooms were clean and pleasant (beds a touch on the hard side, but that is the only negative - I wonder if you could perhaps invest in a couple of "Memory-Foam" mattress pads, to be available on request. For someone with a bad back, that can make all the difference in the world.)
This a well run and clean hotel is located in a excellent position both for the West End and its easy access to and from the north of England
I was very satisfied with the Bloomsbury Park hotel. The staff were very friendly. The location was excellent, only two minute walk from Russell Square underground and also walkable distance to Oxford St. Underground goes from Heathrow to Russell Sq, station. Accommodation was basic enough but comfortable and clean. No complaints, great value for money.
Hotel was in an excellent position - handy for Covent Garden and British museum. Our room had just been freshly painted and was very clean and comfortable. Staff were helpful and I would definitely recommend it.
A bit short of lifts ( one small one only ) but we never had to wait longStaff were polite and helpful
after reading lots of negative reviews I wondered if I had done the right thing. The staff were courteous and polite, lift was working and our room was on the top floor, Hotel modernisation seems to be completed and our room was modern and more than adequate for our stay; for the rate I paid I could not find fault
