My mum and I have just returned from an overnight stay at Lynams Hotel. It was clean, the room had a kettle and coffee, milk etc, the tv worked and had a good picture. there was an iron and ironing board in the corridor and the place was ideally situated in the heart of Dublin. The room was not huge, but definately adequate. The staff were very friendly and happily gave us extra pillows and we were able to leave our bags in the reception area on the day of departure. there is a bus stop just outside the hotel where buses frequently ran to the airport. We didnt eat at the hotel, but the food looked nice and was reasonably priced. There was noise from a busy road but shutting the window blocked out most of this. It was basic, but excellent value formoney and i would definately return.
Comfortable room, good location, would stay again!
This was perfect for what we wanted for a stag do. Cold water tap didn`t work, and the decor was tired, but we didn`t use the hotel much and it was perfect location for what we wanted.
We stayed in room twelve where we found the bed and linen superb. However the bathroom was a bit of a worry as we could`nt stop the water going onto the floor when having a shower because the shower door was faulty. But we would certainly come back when we make another trip, and we have already recommended your hotel to a friend.
very central, handy to airport bus stop
We have enjoyed stayed with you on al least two occasions before which is why we came back to you.Reception and car-parking advice were excellent but we were disappointed that, in having booked well in advance and paid in advance, we were given a back roon, room 24, which was very noisy in the morning with all the activitity in the service road.Worst of all was the breakfast. Your tables for two are too small, The plates were cold, the bacon streaky and not of the best quality , the egg and the plate generally had too much fat, made worse by the cold plateand the choice of cereals from the breakfast bar very limited.
We stayed for three nights from June 12th 2010. Lynams is a basic hotel. The staff are pleasant and helpful, the location is brilliant but from here on its all downhill. The room we had was on the first floor at the rear and could best be described as small and bijou. It must have been the noisiest in Dubin with dustbin and delivery wagons at all hours throughout the night. The hotel is in need of a revamp and a good clean.
Properly finished decor in the bathroom would have been nice but the room was clean and tidy and the beds comfortable.
Very noisy at the rear of the hotel.
Rooms very small and in need of a bit of renovation or a good clean. The TV is a waste of time you wouldn`t stay here to sit around and relax. A place to sleep and get out of to enjoy the city. More of a hostel than a hotel.
hotel is situated un the heart of the city with all the transport just outside the hotel and walking distance to the main attractions. the room could do with a bit of updating but overall was clean (with exception of the outside windows) but it`s also a good value for money and the location is the best.
Rather run-down feel but friendly staff. Wish I`d had time to eat in the cafe/restaurant, it looked good and unpretentious
we could not find the hotel when we arrived 2 Dublin, as the sign is very small, when we went 2 check n, we were told that they had a few problems with a few rooms, they did sort another hotel out and had paid for it, that was just around the corner, and we were happy enough with that!
otherwise ok
just got back from spending weekend in the Lynams ideal location however rooms could do with up dating and cleaning overall nice friendly staff. breakfast was fab.
Do not stay in room 5, the boiler is outside the window and it goes all night, had no sleep, but on the positive the bed was comfy and clean, and thats all i really look for, the wallpaper needs a bit of attention, didn`t have breakfast as its a bit expensive, go across the road and you get a 4 item breakfast with toast and tea for 4.95
I slept in a room with a broken window. The window did not close and the wind pushed the window open further. Therefore the room was freezing and I woke the next morning after my first night with a cold. The room telephone lead kept falling out when trying to make a phone call and one of the rooms didn`t have a kettle!!
Bedrooms needed cleaning. No breakfast on 1st day they said ovens had broken down!!!!!!Bathroom needed cleaning . lights over mirror in bathroom inop.I booked two rooms 2nd room the people had to change room.We had staff knocking on our door at 3am in the morning, asking us if we had ordered an early morning call which we had not. Hotel need some T.L.C
hotel was centrally located and very easy to get to from dublin airport. all the shops and nightlife were within walking distance. room was clean and comfortable. great budget place to stay and will definately be returning
for the price it was ok nice and central ideal for bus to airport and next to main bus office and city tour bus first room was not to good fag ends outside windows and light over sink did not work but reception gave me the keys to 3 rooms and said take your pick which was nice, just needs a bit of man management to clean edges of carpets and get rid of stale fags on flat roofs and door on 4th floor next to lift always open and full of junk ,no need to see that gives a bad image but overall good location and ok for the price. tony doncaster.
Great Staff, hotel and service
Good value for money, central location, no complaints.
Few things in actual room- when opened curtains looked in to a bit of a dismal sight- several articles of clothes strewn over concrete area. Hairdryer not very good- would`ve expected better if staying longer. Shaver light bathroom not working- light above dressing table not working.
Very clean, comfortable and quiet. We really enjoyed our meal in the restaraunt.thank you for a very pleasant stay.
Clean and comfortable and for the money being paid good value. Excellent location in the centre of the city.
Staff were friendly and helpful, Although we were happy with a basic room, it would have been nice if that meant not just basic cleaning as well. You could see that hoovering was only carried out in easy to reach places and not around the edge of the carpets where it was thick with dust underneath tables. I noticed skirting board was clean where it could be seen but stopped as soon as it was disappearing under a table. Otherwise good position.
Overall we enjoyed our stay at Lynhams. The food was excellent and good value. We enjoyed good, friendly service. The price we paid was good value
We stayed in room 26, pleasant enough room for the price we paid but it was difficult to get a good nights sleep as the room faced O`Connell Street so alot of noise from there so we couldnt have the window open, but the room was so warm, if the window wasnt open it was too hot to sleep! One night there was no water running for some reason, on the first night we got there the lift wasnt working to get to the 3rd floor with our luggage. Also the lift opened opposite our door so whenever people came up to our floor we could hear everything they were saying. Further to this, the shower was really poor - for any girl wanting to wash and rinse her hair, the shower was useless for this! There was no power and it was tepid to say the least. If you are looking for somewhere cheap to crash while out on the lash for most of the night - its a good place to stay, but if you want somewhere you can get some sleep and a shower then i`d look elsewhere
The hotel had all you need for a stay in Dublin. The restraunt was really good and the food was not to expensive. Staff were friendly. Its an ideal location for exploring Dublin.
Well placed for accessability to tourist attractions. Clean, breakfast adequate but no vegetarian alternatves offerred other than full irish . Lift not working when you are placed at top of hotel a nuisance and safe not working and after several requests to find a key not addressed, this meant carrying around documents and money that would have been better left at hotel.
The hotel was in an excellent location - very close to both the shops and main bars in Temple Bar. The rooms were basic and could do with a lick of paint. We had to move rooms initially as ours stank of smoke (meant to be a non smoking hotel) but the hotel reception girls were very firendly and helpful and we were moved to a different room without quibble. For the money the rooms were ok but you wouldn`t want to spend a lot of time in them!
