Hotel was in a good position with easy access to city centre of Barcelona. Rooms were clean & comfortable but for a 4 star this hotel was nothing special. The reception staff were very lacking on customer service. On arrival we were given a twin room not a double as I had requested on the booking, we then had to wait for the double to be ready & this room smelt of smoke even though the hotel is suppose to have a no smoking policy in the rooms.

Room was small for 3 people but could not fault location. Also staff were friendly and hotel was very clean as was the room. The safe in the room was a bonus. Our room was positioned overlooking a street which was extremely noisy at night. However, all in all I would recommend the hotel to friends and family.

No-one seems to use the hotel restaurant, but the food there is much better than all the tourist restaurants, and it`s no more expensive

Stayed for 3 nights and were very impressed with the hotel. Enjoyed a very pleasant stay, room on 9th floor but sadly no view. Room spotless and bathroom excellent. Breakfast was very good with fresh ground coffee and orange juice - no instant stuff! Hot food was a bit undercooked but it didn`t bother me as the choice was excellent for the other items they served. Friends I travelled with wished the room had a welcome tray for coffee, tea, etc. Will definitely return.

I was disappointed when arriving at the Cristal Palace to find twin beds in a room I had booked as a double. The long weekend break was an anniversary present but having to sleep seperatley didnt really give to the atmosphere. The staff were extremeley noisy in the mornings which didnt make the stay that relaxing but rooms were a decent size and the bathroom very nice

Right between two main shopping streets. 10 min walk to Place Catalunya/La Rambla. 10 min walk to La Pedrera. Good buffet breakfast. Good size very clean rooms. Hardest beds I`ve ever slept in! Family of 4, we had two rooms with connecting door which was perfect for us.

we stayed for 5 days in the crystal palace, the room was very spacious compared to other Barcelona Hotels that we have stayed in. breakfast was plentiful with a wide choice of hot and cold foods, and the comfortable sofas in the bar were welcoming after a hard day sightseeing.would definately recommend this hotel

Really enjoyed staying in this central area, Gracia area really nice and shops great, althougha bit expensive for me, Have stayed in Barcelona before so I knew area well.Would recomend hotel to friends, really clean, mixed set of tourist,I wish the television had more Englisgh speaking channels, I enjoy an hour or two of just chilling.Overall If Celtic football club are over playing Barca again I would be more than happy to stay here again.

we did not expect a bedroom and a living area, it would have been nice to have a double bed rather than 2 single beds together but the rooms were very clean, we would definitely stay there again and i would recommend this hotel to friends and family. The only disappointment was we booked a meal in the restaurant for the Saturday evening why i dont know as we were the only people in to eat that night.

First class in all aspects and will certainly plan on renewing our acquaintance with the Cristal Palace when we return to Barcelona.

This was a good choice of hotel, staff very helpful but unobtrusive. Good location - easy to reach Placa Catalunya and Ramblas. Good restaurants nearby. Breakfast was excellent - much more than we expected - still manged to eat plenty more during the day though!Would come again.

I was very impressed with the friendliness of the staff. The hotel is ideally located in the centre of Barcelona but the downside to this is that you get a lot of noise in your hotel room from the busy streets.

Coffee at beakfasts!!- food was fine, its just that the coffee machines were useless: slow, noisy, even dangerous (not seen so much steam since Beeching closed Oakley station!!). Guests were annoyed and frustrated. For future guests, please provide something quicker and simplier- just jugs of freshly made coffee, regularly topped up, and chuck away those useless machines. This would also provide a personal touch- people like to speak to waiting staff.

Would recommend hotel - get some more mirrors though please!

Booked a double smoking room and got a twin non smoking room. No basic ironing facilities and when complaint submitted the agreed rectification was not actioned. Breakfast is fairly basic and not of european standard for this calibre hotel. I stay in hotels every week and this simply is not a 4 star hotel - at best it is a 2.5

The hotel is in a good location in the city. The hotel is run very efficient, is clean and tidy with very helpfull staff. Would recommend with only criticism being the limited lift capacity which made for long waits at busy times.

I took my boyfriend for his birthday for the weekend and allthough the hotel 1898 was booked up which i intially booked...we were put into Crystal instaed! i was unsure as from the pictures on the website i wouldnt have chosen it but it turned out to be great. the staff were all so friendly it was very quiet in the night no traffic sounds or motos to wake us. We even missed our check out time as we went to an amazing club the night b4-CUBE-and ended up on the beach till 1.00pm chilling with freinds. The hotel were so good about it and we extened our check out time till 7:00pm....I would reccomend this hotel. Rooms could be bigger but very clean, air con, mini bar, marble through out, tv, bath, shower, excellent positioning for the Guadi house and all other sites and Ramblas very close but not too close to annoy you. cant comment on breakfast as we ate out but had a dinner there the first night and it was fine a good selection. There is also internet access at the main reception.

Welcoming and friendly staff, lovely hotel in a quite street just off the main tourist area. Clean rooms & good breakfast buffet - excellent stay. (Upgrade to a suite was a lovely suprise)

We had a great weekend in Barcelona and this was helped by the excellent standard of the hotel. Whilst we didnt spend much time since we were out exploring the city for most of the weekend, the room was spotless, the breakfast gorgeous and the attitude of the staff was first class. We couldn`t have asked for a better location to stay and when we come back to Barcelona in the future will certainly try and stay here again. Thank you for making our stay so pleasant.

In need of sound proofing.Could hear next door snoring.Room alot smaller than I expected

the reception staff were very helpful breakfast room staff also, but stay out of the restaurant, only one did is best under stenched circumstances
