Think it may be an option that when there are coach parties or the hotel is relatively busy that there be 2 sittings for breakfast as it was difficult to get a seat and felt that you were rushing breakfast due to being so busy. Rooms were small but adequate and clean
I read reviews before I went and yes the room was warm but a fan was provided and we were only in room to sleep after all. Lifts were busy but did not prove a problem for us we always walked down from the 4th floor and going up we never waited long. The room was small but clean with everything we needed. We were happy with the price we paid for what we got and would definitely stay again when in London.
The hotel is well situated for the Royal Opera House and is comfortable. We had an excellent meal in the Italian restaurant.
although thr rooms are small they very comfortable with all mod cons but then why would you want to stay in your room all the time, also that was good was being able to leave your bag/case even after check out while you went and did what you wnted to do.although the hotel was busy the staff were helpful and courteous.
Would have liked herbal teas and brown bread/toast at breakfast otherwise good.
But the price of the drinks spoil it £4.50 a pint way to dear.
Very noisy the first night and we asked for help. We were then moved to a quieter room without any fuss so you can`t be fairer than that. Great breakfats.
The disabled room was excellent the only small thing I would like drawn to the hotel`s attention was that in the bathroom there wasn`t any shelves for toiletries by the wash hand basin and no hooks for dressing gowns etc. Also the wardrobe did not have a long wardrobe to enable me to hang trousers or dresses. But everything else was excellent
BASICALLY "DID WHAT IT SAID ON THE CAN" BUT NO MORE, HOTEL IS MORE GEARED TO INTERNATIONAL PASSING BUDGET TOURISM. MINIMIM PROVISON OF EVERYTHING, HALF A LOO ROLL !
Nice room with good facilities although the television reception was really bad apart from Channel 5! The staff were helpful. Lovely buffet breakfast. Really useful being able to leave our bags at the hotel after we had checked out so we didn`t have to carry them around London for the day.
Good value for money, rooms clean and well maintained. Staff friendly and efficient. Only downside is that you often have to wait for lifts as they arent very big and 3 people with cases fills them. Internet access is good.
Twin room was basic but OK for a one night stay. There was no air conditioning in the room or in other main parts of the hotel - which in the unusual sunny English weather was a trifle stifling. Good breakfast!
Excellent location but the single room was very small and badly sound proofed.
Very good location for the Theatres. Breakfast was okay. Check in could be faster.
Our stay at St. Giles was very good, value for money excellent, breakfast superp, very good location to visit everywhere in London, only downside which I expect you have heard before, the room was a little on the hot side even though we had a fan, the rooms were clean and had all you needed, thanks for a great stay, will use again.Marilyn Wren
Our room was small and HOT! No airconditioning so had to leave the small window open for air, then the traffic noise kept us awake. One of the lifts would not operate properly and we were trapped inside . had to manually open the doors to get out! Basically like a cattle yard for travellers to London.
Room was very small but clean. OK for one night but 4 nights was a bit too much. TV in room was small, poor reception and very limited channel choice. Breakfast was chaotic. Hotel bar is fine with very helpful and friendly staff.
St Giles is in an excellent location for the chops and shows, it is comfortable and the breakfast is filling. The rooms are not big and the i have been in cleaner bathrooms but for an over night stay it is perfect. I slept like a log which is unusual in a hotel.
The conceriege was second to none all staff very helpfuland meals in the hotel was awesome breakfast just blows u away with what is laid out for u
Room nice and clean. Shower nice and warm. English skills of staff adequate. Breakfast substantial. Bacon poorly cooked: burnt once side, raw the other; often not even unfolded,
Although the hotel staff were very good & friendly and the breakfast was OK we would not stay there again due to the bedrooms and excessive time spent waiting on lifts.
recomended by my sister, I took my granddaughter on her first trip to London the staff were very helpful in recomending trips out, we both had a great time, will certainly be back on my next trip to England. Could not fault it for the price.
I would definately stay at the hotel again, double bed was actually a three quarter but was fine for a short stay. Hotel staff very helpful. About half an hours cab trip from Paddington depending on the traffic.
everyone was very helpful to us and couldnt do enough to help. We will come back again
I was very impressed with the efficient front desk staff, obviously well experienced in handling a large number of tourists coming from their tour buses; the several lifts cleared the lobby area fairly quickly. The room we had was OK, smallish, as we expected, but quite comfortable & adequate for our purpose i.e. a place to rest our weary heads after a full-on days` sight-seeing. The breakfast buffet couldn`t be faulted, with plenty of everything and again, competent staff on hand to re-fill/replenish.St Giles isn`t the Ritz but certainly is good value for money for those seeking a centrally located, no-frills hotel at a pretty reasonable tariff. We`ll certainly stay there again when in London (unless we win lotto in the mean-time - in which case we`ll give the Ritz a go)
CLEAN AND TIDY. BUFFET BREAKFAST LIKE A RUSHED CANTEEN, PLATES WERE CLEARED AS SOON AS YOU OUT THE CUTLERY DOWN! GAVE IMPRESSION OG BEING RISHED. vERY NOISEY DUE TO DELIVERIES. HAVE BEEN THERE 4 YEARS AND WOULD NOT GO BACK I FELT THE STANDARDS HAVE DECLINED IMMENSLY SO MUCH I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL
staff friendly room good size, clean, breakfast nice good choice of food and beverages
