The Park Lane Mews Hotel was perfect for my recent two day stay in London. Close enough to all the local amenities, yet hidden away from the hustle and bustle of Mayfair, this chaming little gem offers a relaxed peaceful haven for the weary traveller. The entrance is immediately inviting and has a refreshing home from home infomality that has often disuaded me from other hotels. The rooms are fairly small but very clean and comfortable and provided everything I needed. The service given was top class with very willing and friendly staff. I would stay here again and will certainly recommend to others.
Room was fine and clean, and could not fault the help from the staff. Our room was at the front and tended to be noisy in the early hours from staff from the Hilton whose entrance was nearby and people emerging from local bars etc. Would use hotel again but aim for a back room
I heard two other residents mention this as they were checking out, so not confined to our room.
AN ALL NIGHT PARTY WHICH KEPT US UP ALL NIGHT.IN THE END AT 5 IN THE MORNING THE NIGHT PORTER MANAGED TO BREAK THE PARTY UP.
Our room was clean and tidy and the staff very helpful however the noisy plumbing lets it down very badly.
all fine and as expected for what i thought was a fairly competitive price £110 per night for twin.only issue was with the shower which was so weak that i struggled to wash the shampoo off!
when we arrived the reception area looked nice but they did`nt have us booked in and tryed to give us a twin room when purchased a double and was going to do that it was my wedding anniversary.we evently got a double room that was scruffy decore and untidy window wud not shut too so the moved us too another room which was slightly better but had rip in blind and faulty air con.not worth the price
the room we had in december was very good staff helpful and pleasant
The hotel itself was fairly sraight forward to find, just afew minutes walk from Green Park. The staff I found helpful and polite. The hot buffet breakfast was very nice, though getting seated caused a little confusion, and they started packing everything away at 10am - when reception said that breakfast is served until 10:30! The room appeared nice, but the heater was not working, the tele only had 9 tv channels, No fridge / mini bar - but you can order from room service. The thing that left us most disappointed though was in the room they had only left fruit tea bags, not proper ones!!
The hotel is in a great location, easy walking access to so much, with Green Park, Hyde Park nearby, good restaurants and pubs nearby. The staff is very friendly. The room we had could have been cleaner, problems with the toilets not flushing in our room took a while to remedy. The rooms are very small, a squeeze for two people, especially with the price asked. The bed was hard and small, compared to what I am used to in hotels I have stayed in recently. It is a shame as it has the charm downstairs from the moment you enter, but this evaporates once you enter your room. a hotel with potential to realise.
Very comfortable beds, room decoration a little bit tired but pleasant , quiet rooms . Cooling excellent but difficult to get heating started. Welcoming , living room style reception area. Staff pleasant and eager to help.
The hotel has a great location, which is why we chose it. The outside, the lobby, the quick , courteous and efficient service all bode well. However, the bedroom felt like it needed redecorating, the carpet needed renewing and the bathroom, although reasonable, needed lots of attention and redecoration.
The bathroom was in need of a makeover and i had problems with the shower but for a slightly cheaper option in the mayfair parklane area a good option and well located for underground and buss services
shower headf neded descaling
Fine but NO malt whiskies in stock for a night cap so had to go elsewhere for a drink !
We stopped in the lounge prior to our evening appointment, my husband ordered a Whisky but there was no whisky in the bar. On returning from our evening out we again stopped for a nightcap, ordered two brandies but the stocks were dry. Not Good.
We arrived at the Park Lane Mews Hotel to find a system error and some rooms had been double booked. The hotel staff did their utmost best to resolve the problem but to no avail. We were then told that 2 single rooms were available and took them up on their offer of one of these rooms as we were meeting friends within the hour and needed to resolve. With this the hotel staff could not have been any more helpful and did their best to offer us drinks on the house and free breakfast. In our view the hotel staff were excellent in dealing with this and we would like to thank them personally for their help and sense of humour whilst dealing with our problem. Other than this our stay at the hotel was a pleasant one.
This is a lovely little hotel with lots of charm and character. The staff was friendly and helpful, and made us feel welcome. Good location close to pubs and transport. Probably not for someone who likes new, high tech, spotless accommodations ... but very comfortable and homey.
A bit disappointing, did not seem like a 4 star hotel to me! We were not made to feel very welcome by the receptionists when we arrived and found them quite unapproachable. We stayed in room 109 & it just seemed a bit tired. The voile curtain was grubby with a hole in it, the carpet was dirty, the tiles in the bathroom had seen better days & the bath itself had chips out of the enamel. It was adequate for what we needed for 1 night but I don`t think we will return to that particular hotel!
the position is great; the staff were helpful and polite; the decor has passed shabby chic and is just shabby; the room was ok; the mattress was absolutely knackered and severly uncomfortable; the shower was a trickle - which was cold the following morning. On the basis i was out for dinner and leaving before breakfast the following morning the function of the hotel was for me to have a couple of showers and a good nights sleep - not a great outcome really !!
I was delighted with the Park Lane Mews Hotel, the exterior is Ivy clad, giving it a charming boutique hotel feel, the lobby is arranged to feel welcoming with cosy sofas, oriental rugs, interesting artwork and such friendly staff. The room, although snug was well designed and had everything I needed including free WY Fi access which is so important. I will be back!!!
The receptionist on arrival was very helpful and extremly friendly and the receptionist in the morning was rude and ill informed. Her approach was that of negativity before checking her facts. Average hotel for the area.
very hot-no air con, window in firts room almost hanging off!!! had to get only fan in building and sleep with curtains open and window open to traffic/light. No water/mini bar in room. No hairdryer. V.Pricey for what you get
On arriving we were really pleased with the hotel we had chosen...the room was a little small but then we only spent the night....the service at reception was very good and the bar service was very good..n the morning for breakfast the choice was excellant....we will come and stay again ...Brenda Morley
I was quite excited when we pulled up in the taxi to stay at this hotel, it looked lovely from the outside and is in a excellent spot but all that changes when you walk inside, the reception is VERY VERY tired, the arms on the chairs are flithy and the whole area smells a bit like josh sticks. not very fresh smelling.. hoping our room would be slightly better, it wasnt, the room was very very small. The nets that were hanging at the window had not been washed for god knows how long as they were black. the carpet was pretty old and worn out too. Makes me wonder about the bed sheets. its such a shame as it hotel could be a beautiful boutique hotel if it was just looked after a bit better. sadly it has been left to just rot away really. a shame
Perfectly adequate, good location. Surprised it was a 4* hotel. No shower cap! Calamity!
We were warmly welcomed on arrival. Having booked a twin bed for 1 night we were put into a large apartment next to the hotel. There was only one main door key held by the hotel so one had to ask to be let in. There was then two flights of steep stairs. Staff v helpful with luggage. The apartment was o.k though we found that the shower did not work as the controls had vanished. There was an alternative bath & shower but it was not great.. We had to wait for hot water to heat up as all electricity was turned off. We also had to find the fuse box to turn on electricity to heat a kettle. Beds needed new mattresses. It all felt a bit like a staff flat but the price was very good for central London and suited our purpose for a one night stop. The staff were excellent.
Decoration tatty. Housekeeping needs looking at - chairs in room had crumbs and dust. Side surfaces not wiped down in bathroom - silicone around bath black. No flannels and only large towels - no small towels. Room service tray left in corridor from 9pm (0vernight) moved along corridor but still there at 11.30am next morning. Mattress extremely hard. On a plus point the staff were charming and welcoming - just the hotel needs updating and cleaning properly.
We would prefer proper bar facilities. While the food at breakfast was good, we found the service not good. The staff were very anxious to clear away. They had to be asked for essentials such as cultlery. They poured tea as we arrived in the dinning room, despite the fact that we were only having cereal at that time. When asked later for a fresh cup of tea they at no time offered to bring a pot, though when asked they did so.The toaster was turned off while still in use. Just to clarify, There were six in my party and we were at breakfast before the deadline on each of the two mornings that we spent in the hotel.
I would love to go there again and would try and go re my price range, staff very friendly.
I have stayed before and had problems with the heating and again i had problems and tried 2 rooms, they supply portable heaters but with the snow and thin blankets on the bed it was a long night. Position wise hotel is excellent.
