The hotel was nice, however I deffinetly would not rate it a 4* more like a 3, I was a bit upset though in the fact that because we did a package deal our room seemed to be tiny compared to the other rooms, we also had a tiny TV and all other rooms had large wide screens and this is only the room next door.I like the hotel but I wouldnt go again, The bar was quite dull with no atmosphere, we went to have a drink there after the show and it felt like a waiting room, no music. The staff were okay but not so helpful, when we checked in we werent advised when breakfast was until or when we had to check out so we had to call down to reception a lot.
We enjoyed a pleasant weekend break at this hotel. The room was bright and clean and also amazingly quiet for a London hotel. The bathroom was a little tired and due for a bit of a refurbishment but nevertheless again it was very clean and everything was in working order. The staff were extremely attentive and polite. The hotel is in a good position for the tube and it`s easy to get around using this place as a base.
Lovely hotel. Plenty of restaurants nearby.Within walking distance of theatres and shops. The only things that need attention are the noisy closing of doors on the rooms and the prices in the bar.
Older hotel with limited facilities and rather small rooms but kept in very good condition and in an exellent area close to Oxford St and Euston business area with plenty of restaurants etc within easy access.
Good situation. Plenty of places to eat close by. Hotel staff - very helpful. Hotel bar service good. Room was clean and comfortable. Only negative was the lift - hotel has only one which at times was slow.
This is a very pleasant hotel which is in an excellent location and within walking distance of many of London`s attractions. We had a 2 night stay and cannot find fault with it - highly recommended.
This was the second time we`d stayed at the Rathbone. The first time we were fortunate enough to get a free upgrade to a suite, this time we didn`t........but we still thoroughly enjoyed our stay.Friendly, efficient staff...comfortable room, and nice breakfast. We love the location too,and the discount card for restaurants in the vicinity.
Great location 2 mins from Oxford Street and 2 mins from Soho Square.Lots of bars and restaurants very close by - Spoilt for choice. Only down side is that its noisy outside in the mornings when the rubbish is collected. We stayed for 1 night, Excellent room,Would definatley stay again and would reccomend to others. Staff were friendly and the breakfast was good.
Hotel did not have facilities in restaurant for evening meal. Booked extra night and room had not been cleaned by our return at 4pm
We have stayed at the Rathbone a few times now and are never disappointed. It is in a good location, handy for the tube and there are many bars and restaurants nearby too. The staff are always helpful and friendly and the hotel is very clean. The continental breakfast is very good and, again, the staff are very attentive. Our only small complaint is that the rooms and bathrooms, although nice, are a little dated and need some refurbishment. The rooms could also do with new flat screen tv`s that are digital text enabled. All in all though a good place to stay, offering value for money and no doubt we will be back in the future.
rooms could have been better
Highly recommended if you want a small, friendly hotel with very modern facilities
Hotel cost around £140 for two people for one night. Whilst the location was excellent this was grossly over-priced for what we got; a very small double room with a standard continental breakfast. The room was about the size of a spare bedroom in a normal sized house, hardly what would be expected for £140 pounds. Would not go to this hotel again because of this disparity between cost and size of room.
The Rathbone is in a very good location, close to Goodge Street tube station and also in easy walking distance of many attractions. Plent of nearby bars and restaurants too. The staff in the hotel are all friendly and professional. The hotel has a high standard of cleanliness and the continental breakfast is very good. My only small complaint would be that the rooms could do with a freshen up and modernising, along with the en-suite bathrooms. Overall though, extremely good value, we enjoyed our stay and we will be back again.
Very clean and comfortable. Problems with room service being late, but complimentry drink was given. Ideal location and left luggage facility. Polite and friendly staff.
Hotel was clean and staff friendly, however the room was very small but had all the amenities
OUR ROOM WAS VERY SMALL BUT VERY CLEAN, FUNCTIONAL AND COMFORTABLE. THE CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST WAS VERY NICE. THE STAFF WERE ALL VERY POLITE. OVERALL VERY GOOD SMALL HOTEL AND WE WOULD USE IT AGAIN. THANKS TO HOTEL DIRECT FOR A GREAT SERVICE.
Location very good. Staff very helpful. Room clean but smelt damp. Don`t expect to get much sleep before 2am and you`ll be awake by 4am when the glass and rubbish are collected from the night before.
I was disappointed by the Rathbone Hotel. I certainly wouldn`t categorise it as a `luxury boutique hotel`, the decor is very dated and the standard room we were given was damp, the bathroom a little mouldy plus there was a sizeable hole between the window and the wall! We requested an upgrade as we were unhappy with the room, they eventually found us an executive room that was better but we had to pay for the upgrade even though our original room was sub-standard for a 4 star rating. The Rathbone Hotel did put a downer on what was a special weekend, luckily the show made up for it!
Staff could have been a little more informative, had to ask everything instead of being told
Breakfast was very good with partial waiter service fresh food nicely presented. Staff were also very helpful when required.
My husband and I stayed here for two night`s bed and breakfast which was continental but we upgraded to a full english which was tasty and nicely cooked(although the continental was also good with meat`s,cheese`s,croissant`s,rolls yoghurt`s,assorted jam`s)the double room was furnished to a high standard as was the marble bathroom, the bed was very comfortable and had lovely white fresh cotton sheet`s,there was also a trouser press and hairdryer, the hotel was in a superb location for the theatre`s and shopping, and easy walking to the Westminster area for the London Eye,Thames river boat trip`s,museum`s etc.
A well situated hotel perfect for a night out in the West End or a tour of London the staff were polite and welcoming and we enjoyed our stay. The short distances from the tube station made it easy to enjoy all of London.
