Shops and bars close by. Rooms are clean and staff helpful, also carparks close by.
Went for an overnight stay in Dublin with my daughter and got a good rate for the Grafton Capital. This hotel has definitely seen better days, there are certainly no frills, but then for the money we were not expecting too much. Staff were friendly and efficient, bedding was clean, but there was a stale smell in the room, there were three lamps, only one had a bulb that worked. For very little this hotel could be dragged into the 21st century.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Hotel in great location and bar in hotel was great as was the food in there. Rooms were rather stuffy though and Hot, even when the weather was cool. Room was noisy even with the window closed.Enjoyed it and would recommend it to others.
Rooms: very plain, not like web photos! Staff: bland, not the Irish hospitality I was expecting! Bar: more like a sports bar, beware if there is football on there will be no room! Tv: not satellite, although was not there for tv! Overall disappointing, do not go by the website very misleading....
My husband, daughter and myself went to Ireland for the first time and wanted a hotel that was central so that we could walk to most sites and not have to rely on taxis. I would most certainly recommend this hotel for that. You could not ask for a more central position. The room and bathroom were clean, comfortable and of a good size with very comfortable beds. We shared a triple room and there was ample space for the three of us. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Only down side was no airconditioning or fans in the room. Ireland was having a heat wave so we had to have the windows open at night and it was a bit noisy. We had a lovely holiday in Dublin and will go back for another visit and we will most certainly will go back to this hotel.
Bathroom / shower in need of a little redecoration / modernisation and the availability of a proper hairdryer would be an advantage. Also net curtains were very dirty but overall good
The bed was large and spacious but unfortunately felt like a slab of concrete....room was very stuffy and we didn`t realise we could have asked for a fan as no air conditionig. Overall an excellent venue.
OVERALL THE ROOM WAS GOOD BUT THE BATHROOM WAS TINY. I WAS ON TOP FLOOR SO IT WAS AN ATTIC STYLE ROOM. THE SHOWER HEAD WAS MISSING. THE TILING WAS BADLY REPAIRED AND THE BATH WAS AGAINST THE SLOPING WALL.. IM 172CM TALL AND COULDNT STAND UP STRAIGHT IN THE SHOWER. HOWEVER THE BEDROOM WAS GOOD
I have stay at the Grafton a couple of times and have found it good, although the rooms could do with a lick of paint and some new wallpaper. Will stay there again.
Very comfortable room and efficient and obliging staff
Pleasant and efficent reception staff. Smooth elevator to all floors. Double room clean, comfortable and spacious for a town centre hotel. Buffet breakfast to a good standard and reasonably priced. Large, good ambience bar was packed for IRE/ENG rugby match; all very good natured. Any noise from the bar and street not intrusive and barely noticed. The hotel is very close to a park in one direction, and main shopping area in another direction. PLenty of bars and restuarants nearby, and walking distance to the main tourist night life area. Many tourist attractions nearby, as well as a tourist office a few minutes walk away. Very good hotel staff ( a valuable item I inadvertently left in my room was posted to me very quickly). Everyone in my group liked the hotel and plan to go back.
We would stay in your hotel
We were given a room on the 2nd floor at the front, we never got a minute`s sleep, after the thump thump from the disco downstairs finished we had the hangers on that dont wish to go home followed by the early morning road sweepers. All in all no sleep at all!!
Hotel staff were very atttentative and courteous, nothing was too much trouble. Great place to stay, would definately recommend it!
A* Hotel!!
Hotel always clean. Staff very friendly and approachable. Nightclub sits beneath the hotel so can be noisy if you are near the front of the hotel on certain nights. Spent 3 months here and would strongly recommend it.
Room was quite chilly, very noisy at night, room right above the night club, receptionists very vague.
i love this hotel i always stay here, its great!
Once found hotel was pleasant enough. Spacious rooms, clean and enough facilities. Was able to dry rain soaked clothes with trouser press. Small comfortable lounge in hotel, but not the place to go for a relaxing drink as main bar is also nightclub.Hotel staff pleasant. Would stay again for brief visit to Dublin as convenient to shopping and entertainment areas.
great loction
Well located hotel. Friendly efficient service. Room and linen very clean and bed was extremely comfortable. The decoration was a bit tired and there was mould on the sealant in the bathroom.
We were in Dublin for a very special occasion which was enhanced by the excellent hospitality which we received from all the staff at the Grafton Capital. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable.
we spent a fantastic four days at the Grafton. Centrally located, in an excellent position for everything that Dublin has to offer. The staff were polite and helpfull. The room kept clean and had every extra you could expect to find. the only complaint was the lack of lighting. The bathroom seemed dimly lit and the bedroom was too...a nuisence when trying to do hair, make up/ shaving (for men)! The shower was also ok, but very difficult to get an even temperature, alternating between hot and cold made the experience very unpleasent. We enjoyed the restaurant facilities and frequented the sports bar often and the nightclub.Thank you for making our stay lovely in Dublin.Paula Berryman
plenty of space in the rooms, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The only downside is the nightclub under the hotel that can get noisy if you stay in the wrong rooms !!
The hotel is great for shopping situated right in the centre however Break for the Border below keeps going until the early hours and is very noisy and I mean noisy!!!
