great hotel but too far from tram station 20 mins walk is dangerous when walking along the unbarriered pavement of a moterway
The air conditioning wasn`t working, the breakfast was really bad, burnt toast, stale food, all for eur20.00. We ordered a double room but got two single beds pushed together. We complained when we were leaving and the manager was very bad at with customer service. The only positive things were that the staff were friendly (apart from the manager), and the dinner was nice. I`ve stayed in 3 star hotels that were better. Overall, I`d say best go somewhere else.
was exspecting to be closer to city centre but was near the tram line and easy to find
Set on the motorway directly behind the Esso filling station and 30 minutes drive from the city center this hotel is in the worst position possible.Once there your trapped unless you want to negotiate spaghetti junction. You have to put your room card in to use! the lift which is a hit and miss operation they say its for security but you can just walk up the stairs
The hotel was brilliant with helpful and pleasant staff. Good quality accomodation and food. the breakfast was very good value at 13 euro per head. The hotel ran a curtesy bus to the tram stop which was a good 15 min walk away however this needs to run till at least 7 pm on Sat and Sun as our party felt it stopped too early for those guests who wanted to make the most of the city centre.
I found both receptionists to be `cold` when we arrived on Saturday afternoon. Neither gave any welcoming smile or took time to ask us if we wanted to know anything. We were merely given the key!I asked a chap who is somehow connected with the hotel (wearing a dark suit) for info regarding getting into the city centre and all he could say was "I don`t work here".We were only made aware by a more helpful receptionist yesterday morning that we could leave our bags at the Arlington. We would have changed our plans sooner had we known this.Overall I found the hotel very `clinical` from the initial greeting to the lobby area and the staff overall.
The local LUAS station and Tram service hoofing
A great hotel with very helpful staff , Friendly and nothing is to much trouble. Really enjoyed are stay and will be looking to rebook again when we go back to Ireland.
Good hotel and the free transport to the tram was much appreciated. Meals were very good and we all enjoyed our stay.
This is by far one of the best Hotels I have stayed in when I have visited Dublin, from arrival to departure the staff were friendly helpfull and the hotel itself was great clean cosy good food location the lot.Thank you!
beautiful interior, great staff location a little far from dublin centre but otherwise fantastic
The Hotel was very pleasant but next time we would prefer to be in the city centre - although we are now very familiar with the LUAS tram system. No complaints other than it was a bit out of town.
A smart Hotel with a comfortable room, seemed quite new. The staff were friendly and the facilities good. I would not recommend the rooms for the visually impaired as the lighting was poor and the tea/coffee making arrangements would not be suitable. There was plenty of parking. It was about half an hour from the city centre.
The hotel was very nice, staff were proffessional and helpful, room was large and comfortable. However it was in the middle of no-where! About a ten/fifteen minute walk to the tram station, then another 25 minutes on tram to get into town. Taxis were about 30 euro from town which you need after 11:30pm when the trams stop for the evening. So if you`re going for a dublin city break, you might want somewhere a bit closer! 2 drinks in the hotel cost us nearly 20 euro, but this is actually quite cheap compared to the Temple Bar area in Dublin!
Whist situated slightly out of Dublin the hotel was well served with public transport, with the hotel shuttle bus taking us to the tram. Nothing was to much trouble and the hotel even provided a coach to take us to and from Croake Park, where we watched Ireland beat South Africa unfortunately `The Cornish Pirates` lost to Leinster the previous day. The hotel facilities including the food were excellent (in particular the breakfasts!) and we were amazed at how quiet the bedrooms were. We will go again!
The staff were amazingly helpful upon our very wet arrival. They allowed us to check in early and sent a porter up to collect our coats, who took them away to be dried. The service for anything requested was second to none. The room was very comfortable with everything we needed to hand. The hotel was lovely and quiet so we were able to sleep soundly each night. This was indeed a most enjoyable stay and if ever back in Dublin will definately be our first choice for hotel accomodation.
This is a four star hotel that does not live up to expectations. The good points:1. The staff are very friendly and attentive.2. The decor is to a high standard (as expected for a new hotel). The bad:1. The hotel isn`t ten minutes from the Luas tram station - it`s a 20 minute walk along a busy motorway!2. No transfer to the Luas was offered or even mentioned - I don`t think it runs.3. The literature insisted snacks were served until 22.30 - when I asked for one at 22.05 I was told the kitchen was closed.4. The beds are really uncomfortable.5. The plumbing is problematic - the radiators knock and the toilet kept running until hit!The hotel needs to be more honest in its literature - it`s misleading at best at the moment.
A bit difficult to find as the directions given were only from the airport.
From the initial booking to our arrival and checking out at the hotel, everything went like clockwork. We enjoyed our little break (2 nights) and will definitely do it again.
The xxxxx xxxxx is a lovely hotel with friendly staff, it is a bit of a trek from the city but there are buses and a tram nearby that run regularly.
Best hotel ever ,staff are fab ,bit far out of Dublin town but would stay there again defo :-)
Would have given an overall excellent for our stay but was dissapointed that hotel`s description `couple of minutes walk from Luas tram` was not actually true.... more like 10-15mins brisk walk. Hotel does provide shuttle to tram but not back.... which makes for a very unpleasant walk in heavy rain!! Didn`t eat in the hotel but Joel`s was excellent!
The hotel is out of the city but there is a shuttle bus from the hotel to the tram station where you can get into the city within 20 mins , more information would help guests of the hotel get from dublin airport to the hotel as in get the airport bus to the red cow stop for 5 euros instead of a taxi that costs 40 euors and then the hotel shuttle bus can pick up guests from the red cow tram station, this would be of great help to everyone who is staying in the hotel
Friendly staff at check-in. Nice room with good facilities, and very clean. Close to Luas making it easy to get into the centre of Dublin.
As abpve. What would have improved the service was:More attention to detail at breakfast eg. make sure the fried egg is not almost raw; pastry properly baked, bacon not cold. I experienced all the above.Pick up from Louas in the evening. VIP for single woman guest. The long walk was not pleasant and no taxis were available. I would have happily paid for this service.Room service should make sure they call the right room in the middle of the night. I was called by mistake when fast asleep at 02.30. I was not best pleased!
Rooms very clean and all facilities available, staff very friendly and couldn`t do enough to help. Only one criticism - prices in the bar and for food were excessive.
Well worth the rate we paid. Room was a good size very clean, air-conditioning worked well. There was a very powerful shower over the bath in a large bathroom with free shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and hand cream and plenty of towels. There were tea and coffee making facilities and extra supplies were brought to room when requested. Lunch in restaurant was of good quality. The hotel is a good 20 minutes ride on the Luas away from Dublin city centre and there is a 10-15 minute walk to the Luas. A shuttle service was available every hour during the morning and afternoon periods but it was a little irregular. It is an ideal hotel if you intend to go into the city in the morning and stay all day. Overall a very pleasant weekend in Dublin, would stay there again.
The only drawback is that it is in the south of the city and the airport is north and it is a bit far from the citycentre. There could be more light in the bathroom.
Very friendly hotel staff, the room was very clean and had a definate 4 star feel to it.We enjoyed a lovely meal in the restaraunt. The only negative bit was the walk from the red cow tram stop to the hotel, it took a good 10-15mins.But don`t let that stop you from staying at a Top hotel.Gladly come back again, thank you.
The room was spacious with all facilities, including free wi-fi. Ideal if you want to be `out of town` but with excellent, hassle free access into Dublin city via the tram. The tram is10 minutes walk away but a courtesy car is available if you don`t want to walk. The staff were all extremely helpful and we really enjoyed our 2 night stay.
Stayed for one night and found the hotel to be ok, nothing special and i definately wouldnt rate it as 4*. It is quite a distance from the Luas and had I been alone I dont think I would have been comfortable walking that stretch of busy road at night! If i had known how far it was i would have used the park and ride. Apparently there is a shuttle bus but this was not mentioned by staff. View out window was a grey wall of the Esso garage, couldnt get bathroom light to work the next morning only to be told by staff that the `master switch` was beside the bed - would have been handy to know! All in all just an average stay, too far away from everywhere and I won`t be staying here again.
The hotel was clean comfortable modern and the staff are helpful and friendly The restaraunt was great excellent choice of food
My arrival was delayed for various reasons so no supper available. Part of delay being that it was not clear that, walking from LUAS stop (as stated on their website,) one must be on same side of road as only crossing point c1/2mile further on so an extra mile on the given 1km (to mix the units). Otherwise no problems.
Excellent hotel, could not fault anything, staff were helpful and friendly.THe room was well thoughtout and comfortable, the standard of cleaning was exeptional, not just our room but hroughout the hotel and ground, Only downside was the view we were overlooking a roof with air com extractor (i think) but we had got a bargain and we never spent much time in the room it realy didnt matter .Would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Directions are a bit misleading - it`s not that easy to find if you use public transport and it`s at least a 20 minute walk from the Luas. However, it is worth the effort. Nice comfortable room, the breakfasts are great and the staff are really friendly and can`t do enough for you. Highly recommended - I`d stay here again, but I think I`ll hire a car next time!
I would just like to say a big thankyou to all the staff of The xxxxx xxxxx for a wonderful stay. The whole hotel exceeded all of our expectations, the staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The room was very well appointed and extremely comfortable. The hotel was easy to find just a short walk from the tram. I have no hesitation in recommending the hotel to any of my friends, a truly wonderful stay that should be experienced by all.
