Hotel staff helpful enough however the music from the bar downstairs was very loud and kept you awake until 2-3am, ideal if your going for a clubbing break but if you`re going for a quiet break not the place to stay I`m afraid.
Excellent accomodation
close to grafton street--staff were friendly and always on hand to help----only complaint was that the ensuite was TINY and only had a skylight which meant we had no view--no ashtray or milk for tea
Shower was mouldy, room a bit scruffy, but it was so cheap for 2 nights it was what I expected. Quite noisy the night the club was open, but found packs of ear plugs in the bedside table! I would reccomend it if you just want somewhere to sleep and don`t plan on spending much time there! It`s not far from the centre so a perfect spot.
Hotel was grand, great location. Rooms a bit dated could do with a lick of paint and new bedding apart form that the hotel is beautiful and the staff are more than helpful. Very pleasant people and answered all our questions with no hesitation.Lovely breakfast at a reasonable cost and again i would recommend this hotel to friends.
Friendly welcoming staff. Clean and well serviced each day. Locality was quiet during the day but noisy at night due to night club people leaving in the early hours...window kept open as room warm. A concern was if all lower windows left open as if a child was in the room could climb through the window...maybe only upper windows should be left open for guests on arrival. Breakfast was good...more appetising than it looked!
Ear plugs were provided however the music could still be heard. Put in a smoking room which smelt on arrival. One small window which was limited in its opening, closed to block out the noise. Room although tidy was not well kept ie carpet looked dirty and didn`t look like it had been cleaned well. Fittings in the bathroom were loose, lights were too dim, the room was quite small, the TV was in such a position it was uncomfortable to watch. Pillows were not very comfortable. Milk cartons were off. Asked for morning call which was ten minutes late! On the plus side the laundry service was very good and the staff pleasant.
Me and my friend stayed in the hotel in July. The staff were really nice and let us leave our luggage on our day of check out until we were finished shopping which was great. I recommend getting a top floor room as there is a great skyline window which gave great light. Overall we had a great experience in the hotel. The only small comment I would make is that in our part of the hotel in which we stayed we were on the 5th floor and the lift only went up to the 3rd floor, but it wasnt far :-D
Wanted to charge me extra for checking out 5 minutes late!!! Had to wait around and ask for manager (who sorted everyhing) as staffs english was not the best.
When I booked the hotel I wasn`t informed that there was a nightclub on the premises which stays open till 2.30 a.m. every night of the week. The first two nights were okay but on the third night there was a repetitive beat that the earplugs, supplied by the hotel, could not drown out. In addition, the doors of the hotel slam with an incredibly loud sound. Not recommended if you want to go to sleep before 2.30 a.m.!
very nice place will come back soon 5 star
Room size was standard but good for price. Room was quite hot and a bit stuffy for some reason, even though the day was not and no heaters were turned on. Some noise at night from people outside the window and in the corridor.
we stayed at the harcourt 3 nights in may .we found it to be clean ,friendly and helpful staff.a great central location for exploring dublin.there was a bit of noise from revellers but thats not really the hotel or staffs fault.
friendly staff, clean, nice food,i would recommand everyone.
Noise still on at 3.30 in the morning then the trams start at 6.00need new beds bedding and towelshot water would be niceon the bright side the staff are very nice
Staff were very helpful and courteous which compensated for any shortcomings; room clean and satisfactory overall; central location - but noisy environment generally (at night) with `night club` atmosphere (including one on the premises) adding to the decibels. Not able to rate dining standards as the hotel is relatively close to several dining options which we availed of for interest and variety. Very satisfied with the efficiency of the reservation system operated by Hotel Direct. Regards, Brian Toal.
I thought the hotel was clean, tidy, and had excellent staff. However, the creaking of the floor above was disturbing.
really good location premises a little dated but great value for money overall and staff excellent!!
OK hotel for price and location Central Dublin, but horribly noisy on Fridays and Saturdays because of club/disco attached to the hotel. Staff couldn`t be nicer and actually moved us on second day into no. 65, three doors down, where there was no problem. Rooms clean but on the small side.
Every single aspect of this hotel measured up , the cleanlinesss and decor of rooms , the facilities and staff were brilliant . The dining and bars were lively et unintrusive on rest of hotel , will most certaiinly use this hotel again without a doubt
Good Bar facilities, nice nightclub IN the hotel. However the room left a lot to be desired. For the price expected a lot better. The room was small, peeling and marked wall paper and the bed made me sneeze (dust/mites?). It was a semi underground/cellar room with a no window en suite room. Having NO light IN the shower cubicle thus left you in the gloom. It was far from what I was expecting from a good Dublin hotel!
Room offered basic facilities, including limited refreshments and only shower ensuite. Noisey street - with people talking/shouting outside til late at night.
only problems I had to wait 45 mins for my room to be ready before we could unpack. Good value for the money.
we only stay one night. the reseptionist very helpful. little bit noisey due to night clubs. overall excelent stay
Not very impressed with the accommodation, the heating in the room did not work so it was freezing cold. Carpet and paint was shabby and worn. I would not stay there again. I would not recommend this hotel.
was expecting it to be very noisy after reading reviews on trip advisor but we were lucky enough to stay on a tuesday when the nightclub wasn`t in full swing. large comfy room with all amenities you could hope for in a budget hotel.
We were initially very happy with the hotel. Our first night was very enjoyable but our second night was ruined and resulted in us going home exhausted - not the result you want after a weekend away to relax. The fire alarm (false alarm) woke us at 3am then again at 5am then again at 7.15am. Each time it took us a while to get back to sleep only to be woken again a couple of hours later. We gave up trying to sleep after the third time. When we asked the receptionist what the problem was she told us they have a "very sensitive alarm" and someone was probably having a hot shower triggering off the whole system! I am sorry but this is a ridiculous response and I would rather have been told it was faulty and being investigated than being fed a made up story. I would appreciate some sort of compensation so we could at least have another night away somewhere.
I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for excellent value for money and a friendly stopping off point from which to explore the fabulous city of Dublin.
